Hello everyone! Fairly soon I will be purchasing my first Panerai and from what I have read it most likely won't be my last. I asked D4me about ordering a Pam with PVD casing for me and he said the last time he had checked the factory that made the PVD didn't have any in stock. I was wondering if someone knew when they may be back in stock or could lead me to a place I could check on occasion. I think I have decided I want a PAM 111 with the PVD. Preferably under $130. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

My only thought is that @$130, the pvd isn't going to be true PVD but that shinier coating they use.... it's going to scream rep...

Thanks for the info. I thought PVD was PVD. I may just go for a 111 w/out pvd and maybe buy a set of casing from DSN later. D4me is selling the 111 for $100 with sapphire. Seems like a steal to me.

The black coating will look something like airbrush black. Far from the real deal PVD coating.

Meh you could just get the "pvd" coating off. I have a pvd case on the way, if I dont like it I'll just strip it off with some mild abrasive or something, depending on the wanted look..

Tha DLC coatings look even more delicious, but at a few hundred worth, one (with the "allowances" my gf gives me haha) has to think a bit about it ;). I'm sure I'll get a watch DLCed in the future tho :)

Err why not? Especially if it isn't that "real" :p.
Then again maybe we have a different definition of that "mild abrasive". Wasnt sure I used the correct wording haha :D

It's not real coating in terms of it being shiny and smooth compared to the more graphite looking DLC or PVD (my DLC 000 is below for reference)... doesn't mean that it'll come right off.... especially from the nooks and crannies... you would need to bead blast it..
