So is it ok to put a rep on a watch winder? Or is it something not recommended... I have a Miyota 1095 movement rep, what TPD setting should I put it on?

should be fine putting it on a winder.

the question is, do you want your watch wound and running all the time?

I do and no issues. But be sure to set the watch winder correctly for the type of movement. Miyota winds both ways and requires 650 tpd. 2836/2824 winds both ways and requires 650 tpd. 7750 and most chronographs wind clockwise only and requires 800 tpd.

U.K
I do with all mine as it's a good measure of timekeeping too.

You certainly can keep the, on a winder. Although they are reps, the movement is generally the same. I have stopped keeping them on the winder. I find them easier to store that way. Setting the time doesn't bother me much.

All rep movements should do fine on a winder except the infamous sec@12 in most rep APs. There's just too much metal to metal contact in that transfer and unless you have the jewel mod, the less the movement runs, the better for its longevity. They don't call them ticking time bombs for nothing. I guess that holds true for sec@6 movements also.

It should do fine. I have owned reps for 25 years or so and have never owned a winder. The ones I'm not wearing sit in my drawer and I wind them up when I want to wear them.

I can't see why a rep movement should be any different to any other auto watch

I usually leave all of my alone.
I'm hoping it's a benefit, but I don't think it matters a ton either way.

Not sure if its linked but my tc 2824 was on the winder quite a bit and it recently went dead.

Now i have to find someone to send to for a movement replacement. Which is quite a bitch, being in Singapore with virtually no access to rep friendly competent watchsmiths

When I don´t use them, they sit in a box. I don´t wind any (except some 5 or 6 turns sometimes on A2824s or more on 21j, never A7750s) and skipped the winder. If I want to, I have 3 to 4 running all the time, just by picking them up sometimes in the morning/evening and changing watches when I arrive/ leave home, just as I change clothes.
With A7750s I´d be just a bit more careful, otherwise I see no special benefit or harm, I just think the less unserviced reps run, the longer they hold (includes running at least once every 2-3 months) as anything mechanical with gears.

I don't use watch winder, as Daywatch said, when I don't use them, they just sit in the box. I just don't need or want them to keep running all the time.

How about a JF 15400 AP? It has a A3120 movement

I do and no issues. But be sure to set the watch winder correctly for the type of movement. Miyota winds both ways and requires 650 tpd. 2836/2824 winds both ways and requires 650 tpd. 7750 and most chronographs wind clockwise only and requires 800 tpd.

Theoretically, it should be fine... But I would avoid putting 7750s, especially those with sec@6, since they always seem to die earlier.
