I have retracted my complaint. I did receive a refund this morning. I will likely never deal with PT again.

Was this during the last couple weeks that you have been trying to contact them?

Reason I ask is because cny has been going on

Did you speak to a mod?

Angus is a Trusted Dealer for a reason, he is honest and open in his dealings and always tries to rectify the situation if things go south. Perhaps if you contact a mod or Angus on here, they will be able to help you out. And it has been CNY!

There is also a scam site that looks almost identical to Angus', hopefully you didn't deal with them!

Click the Contact Us link at the bottom of the page.

To call someone a fraud with this story is a bit much.

You may not consider yourself a noob, but the posting sounds very noob.

To put the word FRAUD in the headline and then complain about lack of communication during CNY sounds like someone who thinks that you can deal with China the way you deal with Wallmart.

If you want more reps, be prepared for far worse...

In Angus' defence I've only good things to say. Always had first class service and communication.

I do, however, always ask the obvious question before placing an order, "Is this watch in stock?"

It saves a lot of hassle and situations/allegations like this. Fraud is too strong a word imho.

This is the worst time of the year to place orders for watches. First, the Christmas season puts a load on the system and second Chinese New Year doesn't help either. This also affects shipping lead times with EMS. As an example, I ordered a watch from Angus a year ago just before Christmas, it finally arrived in mid-February but it did arrive and in good condition. Patience is the rule in this game and as Q5 said above, contact the forum admins, I'm sure it can be worked out.

Yeah thats the first thing I always do is send them a link to the specific watch I want and ask them if its in stock. It really saves a lot of hassel as most sites do not state out of stock or low quantities. I ordered a watch almost two weeks ago and I forgot it was CNY but they have been keeping me posted now that they are back. I shouldnt have ordered the watch at this hectic time, but sometimes you just cant wait lol

Three words: CHINESE NEW YEAR

It doesn't take a genius to know that during that time, communications will be sporadic at best; I have recently completed a deal with Angus, and I have a Sub on the way RIGHT NOW. Be patient!

I for one am very thankful that we do have a genius to point that out- thank you soooooooooo much!

Since this is something that happens every year, there should be some checks and balances. I understand both sides, but put more responsibility on the business owner than I do the purchaser. Just because the owner has the luxury of an automated system for receiving orders and accepting money, doesn't negate the responsibility to the customer to make provisions for reacting in a timely manner to issues that are SOP. IMHO, CNY is no reason not to deal with this situation- at the very least having safeguards in place to respond timely to issues from customers who place orders in good faith.

Chinese New Year: January 23, 2012
"After 4-day vacation, people are ready to go back to work. Most of companies will open business on the 5th lunar day. Many Chinese always select an auspicious hour from Chinese Farmer's Calendar to open the company door. Company owners have religious will worship the Gods of Wealth with animal sacrifices before opening business. After the ceremony, they will explode a long firecracker to get people's attention. Today, some cities ban the firecrackers, people play the recoding sound of firecrackers from tape or DVD players."

There are some taboo on the Chinese New Year Day.

  • Since everybody is in a festival mood under a joyful and hilarious atmosphere, people shouldn't argue each other. Also parents shouldn't scold or punish the children. Otherwise, you will have more argument in the new year.
  • Women shouldn't use knife or shear in the kitchen, which indicates evil, anger, danger and cutting out the luck. As a result, women don't cook new dishes on this day, people eat meals from the leftover.
  • Breaking dish plate, bowel or cup means bad money luck coming. In case that happens, then Chinese put all broken pieces in a round container until the coming trash day.
  • A married women shouldn't go back to her mother home, otherwise her mother family will get poorer.
  • To sweep the floor or dump the trash will take away the wealth and luck from the house.
  • Don't have a lunch nap at noon, otherwise people will be lazy year long.
  • To wash the hair will wash your good luck away.
  • Don't wear in black or white to visit friends, because black and white are funeral color in China
  • People shouldn't visit friend's house, if they have a family member newly past away.
  • Don't eat rice porridge in the morning breakfast, otherwise you won't get rich because only poor people eat rice porridge in the past.
  • Don't eat meat in the morning breakfast, because many gods who are vegetarians arrive New Year Day festival in the morning.
  • Don't wake up people by calling their names, otherwise that sleeping person needs people's push all year long.
  • Don't eat unnecessary medicine, otherwise you will become unhealthy this year.
  • Don't wash clothes, because New Year Day is the birthday of the god of Water.
  • If someone owes you money, do not ask for the money back on this day. Otherwise, you will do it often in the rest of the year.

Fraud is an inappropriate expression to be using, I'd probably go with the less inflammatory "irresponsible." With so many superstitious rules, you would think that some common sense rules might have a place in modern business practice. I have a feeling that the Gods of Wealth would frown upon someone who would run their business this way...
