Nature of the bronze is to react with the environment. Its not a blemish, its PATINA.

Just dunk it in a super-saturated solution of Liver of Sulfur like this, then it won't matter!

Just pour some ketchup over it, leave it for half an hour then wash it off. The patina will disappear.
