Purchase from non trusted dealer

I’ve made several purchases from this non trusted dealer over the past year or so and I’ve decided that he’s worth telling others about. Before joining I didn’t know about TD’s or where to find the good stuff. Like many I ended up at dhgate. I noticed there was a bunch of dealers who had copied other dealers listings and only had a few sales. I knew it was a risk but I finally decided on “china-watch-factory” and pulled the trigger on a vsf Starbucks. A few weeks later I pulled the trigger on a clean GMT. Then a clean two tone black submariner. The list goes on and a few weeks back I added a vsf 124060 no date sub to my collection. Like always it’s beautiful. Last night I ordered a vsf hulk and a vintage Daytona with the seagull st19 movement. He didn’t have the Daytona listed so I copied the one I wanted from trusty’s website and sent him the picture. This guy has consistently came through for me and earned my trust. I have always liked buying from DHgate even though people talk trash about them. I don’t care because they accept American Express and I know my money is safe. They’ll reverse the charge with a phone call and all the assurances and guarantees don’t come close to that sort of buyer security. There’s lots of scammers in the replica watch game but I got lucky when I found the “china-watch-factory”. I typically wouldn’t recommend anyone in a criminal enterprise like buying counterfeit goods. Too many things can happen and customs confiscate stuff all the time. I really like that DHgate will refund the money if it’s not delivered or if it’s damaged and I also enjoy the protection provided by my charge card. None of my purchases have even taken as long as three weeks. Maybe this information isn’t for you but maybe it is. Below is a picture or two of my vsf no date submariner and I’ll post again when my hulk and Daytona arrive.

I guess if you're happy with your purchases and feel your money was well spent, then thats what counts.

DHGate is just a marketplace for diffrent sellers and its difficult to evaluate the reliability of its individual sellers. So, comsumers tread carefully, because no one likes to be taken for a fool in what is just a front for a scam. Know the person you are dealing with and the person/persons recommending them...this is just my personal ethos or beliefs.

I took a look at china-watch-factory and I am glad you had a good experience. However..... the prices on DH gate/china-watch-factory are definitely heigher than what the TDs have them at. Also, paid CC with trusted dealers multiple times. You know what you're getting from the TD and you have a community here that they are part of and want to keep happy.

The pictures you see are what you get with the TDs

The prices look mostly cheaper.

You can pay CC with several of the TDs

I don't see anything but disadvantages

Their is alot to be said for having a fairly large and estabished community that has already had dealings with a dealer(S) and can vouch for their product ans service, than going out on your own and hoping for the best outcome. The "tusted agent," in my experiance has been the way to go, but dont let a title put you into a false sence on security that keeps YOU from doing YOUR due diligence.
Cheers,

You make some good points Senior. Let me clarify a couple of things. I was extremely lucky I didn’t pick a scammer. Buying with CC provides a ton of security. If I buy from him through WhatsApp the prices are much lower. I suppose DHgate gets a cut. I’ve bought through WhatsApp but went back to buying from his DHgate store because of customs. The prices on dhg are higher but it seems like there’s usually a $30-$40 coupon. I get my purchases in less than 3 weeks and one time in 10 days. When I hear about guys waiting 6 months for their watch or a couple of weeks for a email acknowledging receipt of an order it keeps me from wanting to go that route. Then if they complain they’re dog piled. I don’t have any of those problems and I really like that. If I have any complaints that aren’t remedied to my satisfaction I get my money back. I know I’m going to get what I want or I’ll get my money back. That’s worth paying a little extra for in my opinion. I’ve just never had any luck giving my money to someone and trusting they’re going to do what’s expected. If the factories get raided, like was rumored earlier, how many people do you think the TDs would have been given their money back? I would be interested in hearing which TDs accept American Express or a credit card. I haven’t noticed any of them.

I have paid with credit card with a bunch of TD´s, Puretime, Trusty, Intime, Theonewatches and the list goes on.
Never had problems either with payment or delivery.

The TDs here have a reputation to uphold and do everything they can to do just that.

Good to hear you've been lucky so far, but I really don't understand your reasoning or what are you trying to achieve by arguing AGAINST using a TD?

You misunderstand brother. If you scroll to the top of the page you’ll notice you’re in the section to review non trusted dealers and that’s what I did. I submitted a review of a non TD. It is you who are arguing with my review. It’s all good though. I never look at what section I’m responding to. I’m hard headed too and won’t budge on an issue that I feel strongly about. I’m not trashing TDs. I’ve never used one so I’d be talking about something I don’t anything about.
I appreciate you providing me and others with the information though. I didn’t know. The couple that I looked at looked like they used an outside service and I was concerned about giving my cc information to a third party. Trusty has an old style GMT I’ve been considering. I’ll check them out again.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who makes mistakes from time to time. No harm though 😎

Bro, I'm glad you're happy with the seller and your watches. For me, it doesn't matter if you shop with TD or DHGate, whatever floats your boat!
And of course you are free to write a review of the deal - but that's not my point and has never been an issue.

You write, and I quote:
"Then if they complain they’re dog piled. I don’t have any of those problems and I really like that. If I have any complaints that aren’t remedied to my satisfaction I get my money back. To me this seems like you are trying to give readers of your review reasons NOT to choose to buy from TD's - and that is what I wonder why you are promoting. I'm not arguing about anything.

The use of credit cards with TDs is discouraged by many. For my own part, I live in a country where credit cards are heavily protected by the banks. All credit cards are insured, so I'm not too worried about this particular thing.
I don't know how things work where you live, so you have to assess the risks around this yourself.

Andrew from Trusty is a good guy and I wish you well on your journey towards new reps.

I had little trouble ordering by cc with Andrew. Im in the US and initially my cc company flagged my purchase because it‘s from overseas but I spoke to them over the phone and all was fine. The transaction went through without issue then.

Sounds like you're more than satisfied with your purchases, and the system you're using, Zeta 7. I'm new to reps and the whole purchasing system so Id be the last to give specific advice on buying a rep, just giving personal and general opinions. I appreciate your feedback and I understand your thought process. It sounds to me like you located your own personal "TD," so if it works for you, and your happy with your purchases there is definitely something to be said for that after all its your money.
Again, I appreciate the feedback, it helps me in my learning process.
Enjoy your weekend

Yeah Zeta7, I definitely did not intend to give you a hard time for finding another supplier you are happy with. Only reason I commented is I had someone I had purchased from outside the TDs and really trusted, I had previously spent 5000-10000 in purchases and purchased a watch thru her and it ended up being not what I requested. I luckily got 80% of my money back and it all ended up good. I learned my lesson then and now stick to the TDs / https://www.intime06.co/#

Who have taken very good care of me even sending a watch back once that did not wind smooth. I looked at you DHgate supplier thinking maybe it would be good deal. But for me, it just looks like you can't beat the TD.

Btw I've also paid thru PayPal FF and received significant discount.
But if it works for you.... I hope it continues to do so!

Best!

I greatly prefer paying by PayPal. It would be like in the old days when the TD would request payment through PayPal and I would send payment right away. Simple and easy. No hoops to jump through

If I was to review a TD I’d have to use something to compare them to and that would logically be the non trusted dealer. It wasn’t my intention to discourage anyone from doing anything. However after reading my review I can see how one could misconstrue what I said if they weren’t aware that I was giving a “review of a non trusted dealer”. The section I posted in was for those reviews. I didn’t post in the general discussion section so please understand the context of what I posted. I do think there’s advantages to every method of buying and it’s up to the buyer which ones are best for them. I can’t speak to the advantages of buying from TDs because I haven’t bought from them. I began buying from my guy about a year before becoming a member. My question about refunds was my way of pointing out the advantage of purchasing from this particular non trusted dealer. I’m sure you could list several advantages of buying from your TD that are important to you or you would choose a different dealer. Obviously getting what I order or getting my money back is most important to me. It was just a review nothing more.

You know how the system works right? Factories make watches and dealers just get them to you, all dealers get the same stuff from the same places so why would you stray from the recommend, or Trusted dealers? Makes no sense to me.

I never strayed. I was buying from them before I joined the group. I just kept going forward. “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it” has been my way forever. You’re late to the conversation. If you scroll to the top of the page you’ll notice that this is in the section where members post reviews of non trusted dealers.🤣 I hope this helps you understand the post and what it’s for a little better. However I’m glad you joined us brother and I really appreciate your tactful response. 😎

errr…. I‘ve been here over 11 years and rarely late for anything. I wasn’t in a conversation, you posted your experiences of rep buying and I gave you my opinion, I didn’t even read anyone else’s comments because that’s how forums work. If you think you’re clever circumnavigating the dealer list then bully for you, if you think it makes you better than everybody else here then really you have a lot to learn.

I think you're being a little harsh here. I buy from TD's, I also buy from non-TD's. Of course I don't recommend that those just getting into the hobby do this, but there are some of us with a little extra experience that can buy without issue because we "vet" the non-TD's. Theres no reason to get big mad and lose your mind over this. There are advantages to using a non-TD, there certainly is risk and its not for everyone, but its a calculated risk, and 99% of the time there isn't an issue if you stay with the same dealer and build a relationship. And the time there is an issue....you've likely saved enough money using one that its no big deal.

I digress, Last time I checked, this was a buyer review forum for non-TD's. just keep scrolling if you dont like it. Nothing says people have to use the "dealer list". The guy is happy and he got what he paid for, let him enjoy it.

I posted a review. RWI dedicated a section for reviews of non trusted dealers. I politely mentioned that once to you thinking maybe you were oblivious to that. Obliviously that wasn’t the case because you’ve been here doing this for 11years. Is that your thing? Do you hang out in the review section and talk trash against other members reviews? That’s bizarre as a mofo. Imagine you writing a review and someone attacking you for sharing your experience with others. That’s just f ing weird. If that’s how you get your jollies man then do your thing. Lmmfao
