Protecting the PVD

It seems like everyone ha a davidsen PVD on the way - me too. Since PVD coating can scratch off, any recommendation on preserviing it? How bout a light waxing?

Opinions?

For one, as with all watches, take it off when you are sitting at a desk and working--it's very easy to become distracted and wack the desk with the watch. I destroyed my first rep because I wore it all of the time. Now I'm in the habit of spending 10 seconds to take it off when I know that it may get damaged.

personally as a vintage piece small dings and scratches will give a better vintage spirit... :wink:

Agreed. Those watches are supposed to be around 10+ years old. Unless you've kept it in a safety deposit box for the last decade, the coating will show signs of wear. Just wear it and don't worry about the scratches.

i always polish my watch before I start wearing ....

but need to be careful on PVD, too much polishing may cause it to fade ... :eek:
