Hi,

I just received my 42mm 5gpo. And there is one thing that irritates me.
The bezel insert is not properly glued.

Example pic (not my watch)

To fix this, I need to reglue it.

Is this the way to do it?

1. Pop the bezel off with a thin knife, heat the bezel with a hair dryer until the existing glue melts and the insert slips.
2. Use a toothpick to spread the existing glue around the bezel insert properly and put it back on the bezel.
3. Press the bezel back on the watch

Usually, i take the movement out, pop the crystal out and then the insert.

I wouldnt use a heat gun as that would melt the crystal gasket.

With my sub, I: heated the bezel till i could pick out the insert
scraped off the remaining glue
put tiny dabs of glue onto the insert (about 3) using a needle
pressed it back on and voila.

Hope that was of some help to you.

tnx.. I have popped off the bezel which contains the insert, worked nicely with one of the knife kind of tool from my new watch toolset..
I have also pressed it back on the watch just to test.

Next is heating the bezel, i hope my gf hair dryer will do the job.

Im looking forward to have a nice smooth overlap from the crystal to the bezel insert.. Right now it is a gap which gather dust from clothes and so on..

Be sure to only put a small amount. If too much is applied, after the insert is pushed back into place, the adhesive may squeeze out and hinder the rotation of the bezel.

i've replaced two inserts on my po already and yes, you should heat it up, but with the movement removed and no, you will not melt any crystal. Any type of glue will work.

When i took the bezel insert off, i saw that it was slightly bended, which must have been done by the assembler at the factory. The bezel itself is ok.
Ive now added some more and stronger glue and placed it back on the bezel. I also managed to align the pearl straight above 12. I am happy with the result.
