Proper way to manual wind 6497

Got a 177, first manual wind watch for me. What's the proper way to wind this watch and should I be careful not to overwind or there's a safety for that on the 6497 it comes with?

Just wind the movement gently till you feel a stop.
That’s it.

Wind from the back so you don't scuff up the bezel over time.
