Problems with my 288k - what's wrong?

I have a problem with my 288k and not sure what's wrong with it or what to do with it.

The chrono hand resets to about the 5 to position, not to 12 o clock. I've also found that it loses a couple of minutes quite quickly but then keeps excellent time.

The dealer says I can return it for repair but with the cost, risk and wait of returning it I'm not sure it's worth it but it doesn't suit me and I guess I'll have a hard time selling it on as it is.

What's the best way forward?

The chrono hand is an easy fix but I'm not sure about the time keeping part. I actually had the same problem with an old cortebert 616 movement a while back. When I set the time it started to lose 10 minutes rather quickly but then after 10 minutes it kept excellent time. I sold it to sconehead who fixed the problem and said it was something really simple so you might give him a call

Where are you located?

If you don't have a local watchsmith to take a look at it, we have a trusted list

Katt has done wonders for me and the turn-around time is super-quick (of course, that depends on the problem as well)

If you love the watch, a full service is recommended anyway - even if it seemed to be fine now.
Send it to G (member name 14060...) or Katt and get it all sorted out and vastly improved.

I'm in the UK and wanted to keep any repair as cheap as possible, it's just too 'dressy' for me and since I've had to sell my 111, the new 177 hasn't been off my wrist and I doubt thats going to change any time soon!

Try re-setting all the hands, sounds like one of them is fouling in certain positions...
