Hello all,

I have not been active on the forum for a while so mods if this is the wrong section please move. I have a problem with my Panerai (rep) Black Seal and thought that some of you guys and gals might be able to help identify the problem.

I have included a video to demonstrate what I am experiencing and also a picture:

The symptoms:
Crown will not wind
Crown will not screw back in
Movement does not operate

What I have tried to fix problem:
Release the tension (unwind) on the mainspring
Winding the crown

Do you think that a gear may be stripped?
Could there be a problem with the crown or winding mechanism?

Thank you for any help.

Dan

very tough to say...and the video does not help much.
sounds like a stem / keyless works problem to me.
id take the crown / stem out, clean and lube it.
then try again.

Thanks for chiming in horologie_unitas.

After re watching the video I made, I did not feel it would help much either.

I will give your recommendation a try.

Also, when I try to wind the movement the crown feels like it is fully wound.

I think that indeed is fully wound and there is a loose screw in the case (or something else) which is ''blocked'' under the balance wheel and therefore the movement stoped.
I have experience a similar problem in the past with a mounding tube that blocked the balance wheel.
