Problem with J12 quartz movement

I bought a J12 from a member a few months back and it was working fine upon arrival. I have been keeping it stored away as a Christmas gift for the wife. Unfortunately a few days ago I took out the watch and the movement had stopped. I banged it lightly on my palm and it started ticking again, but eventually stopped after 10-15 minutes. If I lightly bang it on my palm it ticks for awhile, then quits.

Is this a sign of a dying battery that needs to be replaced...or is it something more serious? If its just the battery that needs replacement, where can I find a jap quartz replacement?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like battery is dying, just replace the battery. Most likely should work, quartz dont break down easy.

You can find watch batterys at Batterys Plus, drug stores, dollar stores, etc. Just remove that one and use it to match up the replacement.
