Problem with date. A23322

Hi Breitling guys,

I've just bought a Navitimer to see how it stacks up compared to my gen Navitimer.
It looks really good!!
I first noticed that the date started to turn a third towards the next day from noon and completed the datechenge on midnight.
But after a few days the date is just stuck halfway and there is no way of turning it.
Not via setting the time nor via the first crown position.

Is this a known problem for this movement as far as anyone knows?

Additional info:
You can hear a click as if the date changer is engaging while in the first crown position but you can feel quite a lot of resistance.

Since your in germany, soo not that far, do you know of a good (rep friendly) watchmaker / specialist?

If you used the crown half-way out feature to quickly change the date while the time hands were close to midnigth, so yes it is a known problem. Most movements do not like that and some even break.
If you were just turning the hands around when it happened then it sounds like it was defective to start with. I had a newly bougth Patek with the same issue and the TD I bought it from had an agreement with a watchsmith in Germany. I send it back to the watchsmith and it was repaired at no cost for me (I would have prefered a new watch but couldn't get the TD to do that). It told me that there was something mounted wrongly and ended up with becoming bended.

But I would still first contact the TD. Unless you caused the break as I wrote above he should replace or repair the watch under warranty. And if he doesn't please make sure to report your experience under the TD thread so other members do not take the same risk.

I'm aware of all the "do's and don'ts" whenit comes to movements so I'm pretty sure I was not at fault here.

I'll contact Trusty to see what they say.
Bought quite a lot of watches over the last months so I hope they're inclined to help me figure out a solution.

Yes, that's the best thing to do. Otherwise I have sent you an WS email address in germany. I have also one in Italy if you need it but he is considerably more expensive (but much faster at replying it)

If the watch did that just clicking over at midnight, bummer. If it happened with you changing the date, try reversing the time back a couple cycles and when it’s at bottom at 530-630ish, then try putting crown in position 2 and changing the date. I’ve had my gen chronomat do that before and this was how it resolved itself back to normal. In either case, it’s probably something super simple. Just a bummer that the dial/hands have to come off, to fix it. Either the jumper/jumper spring is out of whack or the little corrector wheel.
That would be a fun fix for an amateur watchmaker,

That BP navitimer continues to be one of the best reps of a navitimer. I made a franken out of the BP case with all gen parts except case/caseback and man you could NOT tell the difference between it and my gen…

So, been a while.
My watchmaker opened it up and saw the following:
The pin of the 7750 @12 wasn’t taken of by the factory so it probably broke of when they placed (rammed) the dial on.
As you can see in the second picture, one of the two fixture things of the dial broke of due to the force use by placing the dial.
Also one of the date mechanism cogs was broken, probably due to the axle of the 12 o’clock subdial being wedged in there.



Repair cost a total of €120,-, and that is what I told Trusty this and their response was that they could only reimburse $35,-.
End of the story is that we agreed on $50,- store credit.
All in all not the best experience but definitely not bad enough to get a different TD. This is the first real problem I’ve had with a rep so it was bound to happen.
