Problem w/ crown

Hey all, I just got my 111 v3 noob. The problem is the crown cannot be pushed back to the winding position. After giving it a full wind, I pulled the crown out to the time-set position and set the time. The crown then refused to be pushed back to the winding position. I can push it in but it springs back out and does not wind.

Also, it appears there is a hex nut sticking out a 1/2 mm or so from the case where the stem enters the case. This normal. I can post pics and I'll be notifying my TD too but just want to know if this is an easy fix or something I should send back for. Thx.

I don't recommend sending it back to China... I did that once and it took many months to get it back...I had list hope and thought the watch was lost (I did get it back eventually) Just find a local watch Smith to fix it... Trust me

Yeah that's where I'm leaning. Just got to find someone local. Seems like a keyless works problem. Recommend anyone?

BTW, apologies for the duplicate threads. I got an error message after creating the first one and didn't see it in the PAM section so I created a 2nd one in error.

The stem release on the 6497 movement is a screw. Open the case back and loosen the screw to insert the stem, then tighten the screw. Should take about 2 minutes, if you go slow.

Seen this problem on a few of the newer 111s seems the stem might be just bit short not allowing enough pressure to build the engage the keyless. Just find another stem cut it down a little longer than the one you have. Try it, if the crown does not screw down all the way the stem needs some more filing down, trim it down until it works properly and the crown screws down all the way, that should do the trick.

yes this...
And be sure to turn the screw in 1/4 turns.

Great "learning post" on the all too common 6497 hand wind movement. Will keep this in mind. Thanks guys for this little but important 'tutorial' that we may need one day. Cheers !
