My mate Trailie likes these, so I figured I better take a couple of shots for him.
Picked this up yesterday from a desperate seller, for miles under a grand!
Interesting point is that it isn't solid gold, however the inscription on the 4th photo reads "English make- guaranteed to be made of two plates of 10K gold with plate of composite between and to wear for 20 years"
Well does this bring a better understanding of "wrapped" or is this another different process again?
Whatever the process, it works, as the watch is pristine, and it bears a watchmakers repair stamp from 1953. I'm guessing it was mid to late 1940's??
Does anyone have any other info on these?
I would think this may sell in the mid $1ks, maybe $1500 -$1800.
Offshore.
PS, It has VERY happy feet!
