Check the trusted dealer section. That site doesn't look good, photos all look stock and the prices are pretty low. And everything is discounted... how about that... lots of mentions of "AAA" also. These are false marketing tricks designed to separate people who don't know any better from their money. It might look alright but it won't be anywhere near the quality our TD's supply.

They might send you a watch, but it'll have a low beat movement (that's if you're lucky, cos it might only be quartz) and it won't look anywhere near as good as those photos. If you drop 150 on a watch from there you'll probably get something that's only worth 20-50 max.

If you can't find that watch on any of our TD's websites, it's probably because they're not repped well enough or the demand is so low it's not worth listing them. But I'm sure if you email them and ask, they can source one for you. Just bear in mind it most likely won't be very close to gen.

That thing is HYUGE, btw, the date wheel looks like a little man lost at sea. Hope you've got the wrists to pull it off...

+1 (as said above)

Welcome to the forum. Before making your first purchase, take a few days and get to know the place. Try using the search button to search for the particular model you are after to see if it is repped well (or at all for that matter).

When choosing where to buy the watch from - there are a million and one scam sites online that (as said above) will either take your money and disappear, or send you something far worse than what you believe you are getting. Do not fall for the hype of Swiss Made, AAAA Grading systems, 1:1 like gen - these are all bs marketing phrases that are used to get people to buy from them.

On the forum - we have a special section for Trusted Dealers. These are dealers that have been vetted by the forum, and should something go wrong, the forum will support you in getting the error rectified accordingly. If you buy from xyz watch dealer online, you will have very little recourse.

Just about every TD (Trusted Dealer) can get the same watch for you if it is available from the manufacturers. Contrary to popular belief, most of the dealers do not hold stock of the watches, and will go out and source it for you once you pay. Unless it is a brand new release that is highly demanded, in which case the dealer may have a few on hand. Think of them as a middle man between you as the end user and the factories that make the watches. There are pros and cons of dealing with every TD, so read up on them to see how they work and what people think of them. Each has their own unique way of doing things.

If you are ever wondering if so-and-so watch is available, first use the forum to search and get info on the watch, then check the TD's websites (Though these can be outdated as not all of them update their information), and finally, shoot out a few emails to TD's to see if they can source the watch for you.

In any-case - as i said, welcome to the forum. You have found an amazing source for a plethora of watch related information. Use it to your advantage and read up as much as you can. You will be a much happier and more informed buyer once you do. Cheers!

Thank you both for the information.

The selller from that site did reply to me and sent me pictures of the watch I enquired about.. umm it was a Left Hook with black straps! It looks ok but not what im looking for.

I will keep searching on here, I know the U42's are plentiful now as reps.

Thanks again!
