Hey everyone,

I've been doing a lot of reading on this watch and I'm close to pulling the trigger on the ZF stainless steel version. That being said, it seems to be a well know issue that the dial has a flaw in the alignement of the 5 minute markers on the second ring. See bellow the 5 minute market is not centered between 4 and 6 for instance. It seems that all the photos I've been able to find show the same thing. Except for one. The photo on TheOneWatch TD shows the dial with the correct alignment on their ZF version. They also mention it is the V3 (which I understand to have come out in 2020). It is also $90 more than with the other TDs.
My question is, has the misaligned dial markers been resolved and all the TDs show old pictures, or is the one on TheOneWatch a different version than the ones being sold elsewhere?

I don't see the issue you're describing on the pictures sorry

In any case all TDs have access to the same watches and they don't necessarily update the pics on their webpage so if there's a new version you should get the same everywhere. Just ask beforehand and check on QC

That's what I thought. It's kinda hard to tell at first, but once you see it it becomes very obvious.
If you look at the first picture, locate the 5 minute mark. There's a train track on the outside with the number 5, then moving towards the center, there's another track for minutes without numbers. There is a wider marker for every 5 minutes. If you look at this wider marker for minute 5, it is not centered between the marker for minute 4 and 6, it is closer towards minute 6. That's the case for most of these watches I've seen, all these markers are a bit off center, except for the one in the second picture. This is reassuring because that means it is a QC issue, and not an issue on all the dials I guess. Thanks !

Ah yes I see it now. Honestly you need to zoom in to see this so it will be invisible on your wrist anyway. All the best

Similarly, I find it hard to see the problem and guarantee it would be near impossible to see on the wrist. For reference, here's my sector dial that arrived in the last month. Does the issue you're describing appear here?

Yours looks perfect, although I believe the problem only exists on the 5296, not the 5396. I debated with myself for a looong time between the 2, and settled on the simler 5296. It's my first rep, so I want to start easy haha. How do you like yours? It looks great !

Yours looks very good. I’ll try to photoshop something to show the issue I see in the first picture I took later tonight.

Honestly, no need to spend time unnecessarily chasing ghosts. If you like it, buy it; it's a great rep and I agree to go for the simpler 3-hand 5296 rather than the more complicated 5396. The 5296 has a workhorse Miyota 9015 powering it which is accurate, easy to service, and cheap to replace if need be. Great first buy!

I see what you mean, however, in real life, it would be hard to notice it. There have been worse problems on dials in other reps.

Just enjoy it ;)
