Hi guys, I am looking at RO 15400 and RO 15500, but both movements (SA3120 and SA4302) has their own merit and beauty.

Therefore, I am doing a survey to find out which movement (SA3120 and SA4302) you prefer and do you face any problem on automatic winding on the watch you owned ?

Thank you in advance for sharing your story.

I have an APSF 15450 with clone movement. Does it matter for you?
Hi, feel free to share your experience.
Do you face any problem on automatic winding? May I know what is your APSF 15450 power reserve?
I went through APSF 15450 thread and ZF 15450 thread, but barely see this topic discussed.

Ok, first I'm testing my watch on my winder and fully wound at rest afterwards.

The way I look at it is you do not expect too much, and when it outperforms that expectation you are pleasantly surprised!

A previous 15450 I had was pretty damn good, about 60-72 hours

Hi Solex, thank you for sharing.
I am trying to dispel the rumor and focus on the fact provided by the RWI owner.
Example: SA3120 rumor has 60 hours power reserve, date is not instant jump (I am fine with this), noisy rotor and etc....
SA4130 has 65-70 hours of power reserve, auto-winding rotor not heavy enough and impact the winding efficiency, movement decoration is good and etc....

I understand, but even if a SA3120 got 36 hours, for just a few hundred bucks for a rep watch you take what you can get.

I have also had various 4130 movements over the years since they first came out, and nearly all of them have been nothing short of amazing from timing to power reserve etc. The 4130's will go down as probably some of the best rep movements ever made.

I have had several clone movements specifically 15500 from APSF and ZF.

They all have lower than expected power reserve with all of them lasting around 30-35hrs max on manual winding. I also think there is an issue with their autowind - maybe the rotor is not heavy enough to wind the watch but I can almost guarentee that if you wear the watch normally it wont be enough to keep the watch wound. Even on my winder it will keep the AP running but as soon as you take it off the winder it will only run for like 10hrs so even with the TPD set to like 1500 turns per day.

I heard a service fixes these problems but I dont know about that.

Thank you. Several threads have mentioned the SA4302 rotor has winding problem wont achieve 65~70 hours power reserve unless manually wind the watch. However, your power reserve for manual winding really surprised me.

For true performance all the AP clones need servicing off the bat. They almost always come under lubricated causing PR issues. And rotor on 4302 is weak since not real gold so can't power it.

I've finished the first part of testing the 3120 clone movement of my APSF 15450 rep. My winder with ca. 1,500 CW/CCW TPD was able to keep my watch running for at least a week. Now I'm testing the power reserve of the movement.
