Possible tocannibalize high cannon pins? DG4813

Is it possible to swap a high cannon pin out of a dead 2813 to get the right hand height on a DG4813?

I believe it is possible, what seems to be impossible is to put one back together properly.

Amen to that, stupidly awful little movements to try to re-assemble. Have tried and failed on numerous occasions.

Probably wouldn't work anyways. The movements are both different thickness.

4813: Ligne size: 11 1/2(26.00 x 4.60 mm). Thickness: 4.60 mm. Function: hour, minute, sweep; date at 3. Hand sizes 1.00/1.50/.17

Ive heard of people that have done it. Just not something i think someone thats not a watchsmith can do. You can always try giving it to a local watchsmith and him giving it a shot. The problem is that the canon pin is literally the last wheel you have to remove when taking the movement apart.

You can buy DG4813 that have the same 7.32mm pin height of the DG2813, I just don't know anyone that stocks it, does anyone else?

Good point, I saw someone who posted the fact they had 50+ to sell on another forum. Unfortunatley it was 2years ago, not seen any more recent.

You could buy a DG4813 and a DG2813 from Cousins but at the end it's going to cost you the same as a clone 2836 so not much point.

I'll just stick in an overpriced 2813 n be done with it.
