Well I was just winding up my PAM 292 and i accidentally went a bit too far. I felt the resistance and was in mid turn and went past it. The watch still works and is keeping correct time and the crown isn't lose or anything. Is it possible that I messed up my watch at all or is it still ok? sorry I am just a little paranoid.

Thanks for any help guys, this forum has helped me out a ton!!

I believe a hand wind is not fully wound until you can't wind it further with light to medium pressure(winding it further would hurt your fingers) I believe the resistance you felt was the watch reaching its nearly fully wound state. I don't think you caused any damage! I'm sure someone will be along that is more knowledgeable than me to reassure you. Don't worry.

You wouldn't be able to move the crown past the max winding point without getting out the pliers. You would either have broken the mainspring or stripped the winding pinion/sliding pinion or the stem itself. Quite difficult to do by hand.

I broke a mainspring on a pocket watch when winding it with a key, the movement was all a bit stiff so I was using a bit more force than usual and the key gave extra leverage.

I certainly knew about it!

I'm sure you're fine if it is all still running ok.

Don't worry you're alright. It's broken when it's broken, but it's not now. Enjoy the watch!
