can anyone recommend the most accurate portofino or portugieser models and which factories offer them. I tried searching for a thread but just saw mostly for sale or wtb threads.

Hi, the model below is one of the very best IWC replicas, and as far as I know the best replicas are ZF (which the one below is). The way to check replicas vs. gen is to get pictures from the manufacturer site (in this case IWC) and pictures from the best TDs and comapre them side by side. This way you will form your own opinion about that. And it takes a lot of time, also for the other members to do that.
Three hints are: Check carefully the back of the IWCs. For models with transparent back case, there is were the difference between different factories is enormous (with ZF being by far the best in m y opinion).
Hint no.2 be carefully to go for white dial and silver hands. I have that (see below) and in many light situations it is very difficult to read the time.
Hint no.3 for watches with the 7 days vharge, just forget it. It is more like 48 hours. There are no reps with so long charge time. But the display works "proportionally" fine.

Thanks for the reply that is a beautiful piece. I believe I have found it on trusty’s site.
Only thing that worry’s me is the 44mm case size for my wrist might be too big.

Yes it is not an easy wear. For reference my wrist (in the picture) is 20cm.

I have the IWC Portugieser 500703 and 500705 by ZF. They are great replicas but also a little large (42 mm).

There are smaller versions of the Portugieser in 40 mm but they show only hours, minutes and seconds.
