Proposed build specs:
- Gen Tudor dial (aged off-white)
- Gen Rolex 603 crown
- Rare aftermarket Tudor hands
- Rep 76200 case set (smooth bezel)
- Rep Tudor 20mm bracelet
- ETA 2834-2 movement

Waiting for the parts to arrive... let the waiting game begin
Once completed, the watch should function exactly the same as a gen Tudor because the gen Tudor equivalent used an homogenous ETA 2834-2 ebauche movement.

Stay tuned to this project and the assembling process

This is what it should look like when completed:

I was surprised to see this thread. Coincidentally I am wearing my franken right now. I also have the exact same gen dial that you posted but couldn't find good enough hands to complete the build. I was going to use black merc hands instead but settled on this gen stick dial.

I have said it many times pompompurin, you have great taste - Maybe because our watch collection is very similar. lol

Me too! Waiting sucks

By coincidence just completed one today

Sweet, i plan to do something like that, except I might reshape my case slightly to get slimmer lugs

Beautiful! I recall reading that your case was reshaped by jmb?

It sure is. It goes well with the roulette datewheel and the rare serif font day wheel

And yea, getting the serif date and day discs is so bloody hard - it either genuine tudor parts or... they are non-existent. I gave up on the idea because of its rarity

Good to see this thread!!

Was that from the m2m section before? I recall seeing something similar. Nothing beats that gen crown!

Finished the build immediately when the parts arrived today

Here are the final specs:
- Genuine Tudor dial
- Genuine Rolex 603 crown
- Genuine ETA 2834-2 (brand new!)
- Raffles case set and bracelet (brand new)
- Rare aftermarket Tudor hands

The case set and everything else that I needed has arrived today:

First step is to change the day disc to a better one (as provided as part of the kit). The movement ring is also change to the one that is provided as part of the kit

Stock ETA day disc on the left. Better day disc with serif fonts wasinstalled (the better day disc is provided as part of the kit)

Next, movement tabs and screws were installed; the gaskets were also greased. You can see the beauty of a brand new ETA 2834-2

Hands were then installed

Crystal and smooth bezel were aligned and pressed onto the watch

So far, the bracelet quality and case set accuracy/quality is much better than their usual Datejust case and Oyster bracelet. The bracelet feels smooth and gen.

FINISHED!!

The case shape is amazing! I don't have to reshape the case - it's perfect.

Overall, the Tudor Date-Day is a VERY straightforward build and I recommend it to members who just started modding/franken-ing/building watches. The end results are beautiful, and there is no need to fidget with DWO / dial spacer height / dial feet etc (like Rolex builds)

Very, very nice. I was curious if you by chance have a link for the raffles 34mm case set? I can't seem to find the version with a smooth bezel on either the main site or the eBay page — only the version with a scalloped bezel. Could be that you snagged the last available one!

Hi there.
Beautiful Tudor build.

The gen 603 crown fits the standard tube on the case?

I have a 36mm riyi case and would like to fit a gen crown too. . . Also looking for a silver Tudor date dial to use in my build but your white dial has me thinking!

I‘d like to know the same thing as I‘m looking to upgrade my date day build with a gen crown.
Also, is the serif day wheel a big upgrade to the stock day wheel on a gen ETA 2834-2?
Great build by the way - I‘ve seen the pics on another forum!

In my case, yes, the replica Date-Day case's stock tube did fit a gen. 603 crown. However, you must bear in mind that for reps, different batches may have different manufacturing tolerance and / or stock parts. Therefore, some cases may allow the gen. crown to fit and some won't.

Also, Clarks on eBay is selling a (gen.?) Tudor crown with 5320 tube. From my guess (based on the existing raffles case specs and assuming that these analogous oyster cases come from the same supplier / source), a gen 5320 tube should screw into the existing replica Date-Day case without problem.

The replica Date-Day case set comes with a stock day disc and date wheel. Unfortunately, the day disc's days appear to be justified to the top of the dial window. Therefore, I recommend using the stock 2834-2 day disc instead

Ah that‘s good to hear, thanks! Do you have any tips on how to remove the date- and daywheels? I just received two of those in gen and I‘d like to replace the stock ones I got mounted! Is there anything to look after specifically when I remove the overlays?
