Howdy all,

I received a PAM rep that has a polished case with a brush crown guard. The dealer is trying to tell me that this is how the gens are... what do you think? Seems far fetched to me.

What model Panerai is it?

I just got a PAM rep (111H) that has a polished cased with a polished crown guard. The dealer tried to tell me that this is how the current batch is....what did I do? I calmly refuted the dealer's assertion and am now receiving a new watch with the correct specs.

Most H series and newer PAMs come like that (they are supposed to be brushed CG with polished case).

111, 113, I received from my dealers and also Shreve & Co (AD) are all that way too.

No worries :)

@ thatsexystud... which model Panerai did you purchase? It'll help us help you...

If you want to take a look at gen pics of most of the Panerai's in existence, go to http://www.paneristi.com and look at their reference section... I suggest looking at it on framset version so you will have all the PAM models on the left side...

Look at it this way, if you don't like it just take steel wool and brush that case to oblivion :D :)

Good point.

I had thought about polishing it myself... but I'm really glad to see that the gens aren't different. It had really started to bother me . The strange thing is that I didn't notice it initially. The second I did I almost didn't even want the watch anymore. We rep collectors are sure picky.

Thanks for all your assistance! :D

the thing I notice about the polished cg's is that as you wind and set the watch they can get scratched up a bit..for this reason I kinda like the brused cg's...just a thought...
