Hi there,

I recently bought an Omega PO from one of the dealers and I would like to swap out the "28,800 Asain ETA copy" with an actual ETA movement. Has this been done before? I imagine there is a thread somewhere, but I just cant find anything.

How much should I look to pay for it? I've seen 2824 ETA from ofrei.com at about $112.00 US.

You will have to show the exact watch. If it is Trusty or Josh's Ultimate PO Lite ($128), then you will need to get a different set of hands. If you have the Ultimate with the ETA clone, the answer is yes, but not worth it in my opinion. Any other version, and the answer is no.

I don't think true ETA fits in uPO lite. Because the miyota copy is smaller than ETA. It won't fit.

I believe it will. Hands are the only difference. Cheaper to buy an UPO and sell what you've got however.

I got it from trusty.

It says "MOVEMENT: Asia Copy Eta 2824-2 Automatic, Steel Movement Holder, Antimagnetic cover, 28800bph"

brl,

You will get the same amount of satisfaction and BPH (Beats per Hour) from either the asian copy or the swiss ETA. I would only consider changing if your watch has a 21.6K BPH to a 28.8K. Otherwise, I share the same sentiment as the others in that selling is the best option if you are going to swap.

Good luck.
