Why does the digits and markers on the stem side seem distorted? Is this correct? I really have no clue how to tell if this is ok.... thanks in advance

The distortion you are talking about is normal for a 127 super-domed crystal. Besides in this case is very good IMO
Anyway you have a concrete thread to discuss about this crystal distortion where the QCpics of this watch are allowed.
