I would have nuked them mercilessly.
But we apparently let it slide because, I think, he asked a specific question afterwards. Works for me...
What's much more concerning is buying with a dealer named "Nathan" or "Emanuelle" (or something, I'm too lazy to scroll back up tbh) when a noob should just stick to a TD so the question whether something is "real CF" doesn't even come up in the 1st place. Not saying Emanuelle is cheating, just saying what's much easier, smoother and less stressing for a completely clueless noob: choosing a TD for your 1st purchase.

Totally agree with Jossé, not all non TD are bad boys, some are genuine suppliers. I am a newbie too to this new hobby. To take the risk and stress out of the new hobby, I choose a TD with good reputation and just chill and enjoy instead of worrying. Just my 2 cents, Hope you enjoy this Hobby. It's addictive!

No why would it be? I was reading that companies are putting dodgy movements in them and selling them and selling them as clean v3’s
You pays your money and takes your choice.
Certainly wouldn't have that concern if buying from a TD.

But I can't blame him. The lure of Mr. Emanuelle (the handsome Instagram rep dealer) was just too intense...
Who thinks rationally about things like "does he sell me real or fake Clean factory" in the spectacular heat of the moment?

The resources to learn how to do that safely are all available on our forum and it can't be said often enough: noobs should leave the non-TDs to the experienced veterans and pay the TD premium, at least for their very first or (even better) first few purchases to simply safe themselves the agony of potentially finding out that someone took advantage of their inexperience or just merely the stress of wondering if that's the case...
Putting the educational part aside, since the OP already did buy with a non-TD, if we are to help him "factory legit checking", a photo showing the case serial # and the clasp code would help a lot.
If the watch hasn't been shipped yet, can your dealer provide such photos, OP?
