One of my favorite straps. My design. I was inspired by old photos of one of the members on the daughter forum (my favorite RWG), whom I met later.
In his posts he showed a master class on oxidizing (patination) a bronze Panerai .

I mentally imagined what would be the strap for this watch.... and set to work.

The strap is made in the technique of cold embossing on vegetable tanned leather by hand.
Hand painted and patinated. Hand assembled .
The first strap went to Mr. @RiffRalf And the second strap found its inspiration Mr. @C Master
Thank you very much, gentlemen
Later, I started to use this technique in my other straps.

I’ve been admiring that band the first time I saw it. Off the chart.

I have at the moment a piece of leather that I have embossed and prepared to assemble the strap. So you can be another happy owner :D

Big fan of the camel look. A tad lighter would be even better.

About patina:

For turquoise patina:
I like vinegar fuming.
Set watch head on a shot glass inside of a tupperware bowl. Pour vinegar to a level to where it won't touch watch head, place the lid on. In a few hours it will be completely covered in turquoise patina.

For darker brown, black and red patinas
I like fuming with liver of Sulphur. Same process as above.

For a long fun and more natural patina process (for those of us that are land locked), keep a bottle saltwater near the watchbox, lightly mist the bronzo every day, rinse everyone in awhile!

*Apologies thought this thread was in pam section, strap above is from a different source. I'll have get a tango strap!

I had the strap patinated on Saturday.
On Sunday I put the bronze die to oxidise in a vessel. Today I removed the die from the vessel with this colourful oxidation.
This is the vibrant range of colours I got. Look how beautifully it goes with the strap 🤩

That's right, sir 😂
I was inattentive. I was tired this evening.
By the way, both Mr. Popperini and I were inspired by your master class on patination of bronze🤩
