Dear RWI,

I thought it may be of interest to know that Tim or Fat Panda is able to obtain some pretty impressive things. I have a few gen carriers and am really put off by the tiniest imperfections in Cartier replicas. Even those deemed 1:1 have lower pile ink than the genuine. So I was intrigued to discover that Tim has access to a small factory that is truly 1:1. Refer to pictures. Tim email: [email protected]

I've not heard the term pile for ink depth before, I've been awkwardly describing it as '3D-ness' - adding that to my vocabulary, thanks!

Which model is this? Some Cartier models seem out of stock. I asked him not too long ago.

This is the tank Francaise. They show their process for many models. I even found it cached on google! Tim will sent you whatever you want to educate yourself and make a good choice. [email protected]. I’ve learned a lot about alternative factories from him.

@ssouthall6 I asked Tim and he’s checking for you. @Awesomeo was kind enough to introduce me. His email is [email protected]. I’ll post here whatever he comes back with. InTime has a version that’s out of stock that has a TW Dial look to it but they don’t list the maker so I don’t want to speculate.

No they don’t mainly because JF is perfect and has a monopoly - little room for improvement. As far as I’ve seen they are doing tank solo (Jackie O version), the cle, and then superrep IWC Da Vinci. They are shrewd. They seem to identify where replicas are subpar and do a top notch version.
