Hi!
After almost a year without wearing it (or even looking seriously at it) my Pelagos bezel engraving seems more “yellow” than I can remember.
I looked at some pictures here and on TD websites and they all seem white to me?
Any thoughts?

What type of environment did you store this in to cause this yellowing? High UV?

My thought would be the reason the dial might not be impacted is the crystal is shielding it from UV light.

it was stored mostly away from UV light. But storage could be the issue… never thought about that.

No, UV will make white things more yellow. You will lose color in something like a black or blue bezel however, the color will fade.

The same thing happened to my XF pelagos. I wear it daily so it is exposed to UV light frequently. Not entirely sure what caused it. I have also had this happen to the lume on the dial of a VSF Seamaster 300 that I wore daily before the pelagos. I always assumed it was cause by UV but who knows.

Mine was stored away from UV light most of the time so I really don’t know…

I had similar happening to mine and also my 12 o’clock triangle on my steinhart. And my watches are kept in a closet with no natural light.

GEN pumpkin Rolex and Tudors are often found after being stored in the dark, bleaching again (to some extent) when exposed to UV... But that's tritium, generally.

Suspect there is something in the bezel lume mix that 'ages', takes on a tiny bit of water, etc. and changes colour base on the atmosphere, effectively.

I also think it looks pretty cool and would be interested in matching the dial and hands (which are isolated from water and toxins and alike in the atmosphere) for a retro look.

This is well known with v4 Pelagos, they fixed it in v5, specifically there are Chinese advertisements on rep pages that assure that this issue is no longer present

I think it's partially due to the lumed nature of the bezel, and a improper varnishing coat was applied, leading it to react with moisture.

Thanks for this info. I am interested in the Pelagos and will make sure to look for V5.
