I've always loved the look of vintage Panerai and want to get into vintage builds, so this is as good a place to start as any. Not exactly like I want it and I will continue to try to get it right, but it's a start.

Latest updates to the dial, I have filled in the indices and aged them with micro cracks. Next is vintage lume, work on engraving movement and case. Please bear in mind this is just a test dial.

Thanks for looking......

Hey don't feel bad I don't understand either, but it was a nice dial to test on.

It either means homage forum or homage tribute, or maybe I am wrong all together:cheers:

Following with interest Marlin.

Really like your work on those 127 and 217 builds with Mods.

Keep up the Stirling efforts.

Tribuna Omaggio = Homage Forum :)

Ah Ok! Btw the italian traduction of Forum is... Forum! Not "Tribuna" ;)

Nice idea

Yeap. But "Tribuna" (It) can also be translated to English as "Forum"
At least that's what google translate tells :)

I've read about the translation of "Tribuna Omaggio" on the HomageForum :)

Here is the progress of the engravings on the Molly. Happy with the font size, but not with the alignment, need to continue to work on that.

R&D progress is slow, but once perfected should be much faster. Still need to add more text to the bridges "15 RUBIS" and more.

Nice engravings! Any way to get rid of the Russian markings too?

Working on that next after I perfect the engraving, but I don't know if it will be possible without messing up the nice CDG finish on the bridges. I prefer to leave the untouched finish and just use the darker fill color in the engraving to make it pop, but we'll see. I have a couple of ideas i want to try on those bridges.

UPDATE:

Getting the alignment down, this is the latest practice run and it looks like it is coming along. Text isn't perfect because I did it at a higher run speed but once I slow it down the text will be much better defined. It is a slow process but it is moving forward.

Well after a great deal of R&D here is the prototype. This is the 3602, I shaved down the bridges to remove the Russian engraving and added my own. Then gave it a quick nickle plating. I need to refine how I shave down the bridges so as not to go so deep and need to work on the brushed bridge finish. I probably will not be able to remove the Russian text on the CDG movements, but I will try some different things I have in mind. Sure wish I could find a way to do CDG, anyone out there know what kind of bit is used? Here are some quick and dirty pictures.
