One of my all time favorite builds was a genuine PAM087 dialed PAM243 LaBomba

https://forum.replica-watch.info/vb...roject-Part-Three-The-Fantasy-PAM243-La-Bomba

I instantly fell in love with the blue dial an gorgeous yellow contrast of the tritium markers. Obviously the case isn't correct for a PAM087 and the old reps of the 87 are sub par by today's standards. So I held out hope for one of the makers to reissue a better version.

I waited patiently.... Until I couldn't wait any longer.

The devil is in the details on these gens.
Finely tuned brushed finish, perfectly flat mirror polished bezel pips

Milled concentric circles on the subdial.

Perfectly flat and mirror polished CG pin, chamfered inner corners of the crown cut out.

just the right amount of age and character for a 12 year old watch.

frankly regardless of factory, no one will be able to capture the fine details of this watch, with so many facets and angles to perfect in order to capture the over all feeling of this piece. That's mainly what drove my decision to own this watch in gen form. Here's to an iconic Panerai Sub!

Fantastic! With compliments. I love this Luminor, the dial is stunning. And now you have both versions of the dial, with silver index edges and blu index edges.

thanks Bozz!

This dial is also a darker blue than the franken I built.

It has a new home now. I figured I wouldn't need both;)

Great catch Grim! Let me know if you have an irrational window of thought and decide to let this go.

+1000. Congrats Grim. Just amazing, and almost too valuable to feel comfortable wearing it, I guess [emoji4]

Beautiful watch Grim! I searched for over a year till I found my gen la Bomba and it is my favourite pam. Any issues with the bezel plastic insert? Both my 064 and 087 had to be replaced.

Oh what a beauty!!!

I almost bought one last weekend too!

Was at a local preowned shop checking out how I will look with solid gold date justs and day dates (yes planning to get a rep hehe) and I saw this beauty laying there.

Too bad (or would I say luckily), wifey walked right in and sat next to me. Couldn't give enough excuse to spend that day ha-ha

Congrats!!

Here is a pic of it

thanks Ale! Hopefully one of the factories will release an updated version of this so I can have a nice side by side comparison thread;)

Funny, I was choosing between the 64C and the 87F. I have a feeling the 64C will make it into my collection.

I have found its better to act and ask for forgiveness, than to ask and be told "no".
at least when it comes to watches. :)

I suppose it was just a matter of time until you just couldn't take it any more M. Congratulations on a great purchase! That is one to leave to the grandkids someday.

Absolutely one of my grail watches! I want to be able to get one of these or at least have enough gen parts to build a franken out of it as it really is gorgeous!

I hope you enjoy it in best of your health! And I agree, this is the kind of piece to leave to your grandkids or sell to me whenever you get bored of it as I will take very good care for it :p
