Wow, I've got a couple of wiz-bang projects coming up.... You just wait until you see what I've got cooking in the lab. Here are some ingredients that arrived last week.
The genuine PAM360M dial and hands... Now I've held and built many, many genuine dials, but this one I was very excited about receiving. Is it the most rare dial? No, but certainly one of the most well known. It's not often that you get to hold a piece of Paneristi history.
Well M8tes ... on to the pics. I'll show a comparison of the gen 360 against a KW (V6 Factory) I have in the parts box.

One thing that's very evident from the pictures is the structure of the genuine dial indices. Genuine Panerai dials are coinage stamped. The stamped recesses are then filled with lume in most cases flush with the dial surface. The lume on this dial is almost flush with the surface, not "sausage" like at all. This is very different from the typical rep dial lume which you can see is placed in a shallow recess, leaving the lume far above the surface of the dial.
Regarding the hands. These are a dead giveaway on most reps. The tips of the genuine hands are sharp... like the tips of arrows. Rep hands are usually blunt.
Also tough to tell But the lume color on the rep is off compared to the gen. The rep has a pale orange/peach color where as the gen is decidedly more yellow.
looking forward to this build and others soon to come.
