Rust and Bones
Two 6154 build​

Last week I had some time to work on watches, and even more strangely I had the parts needed to complete not one but two builds.



These are both old River case sets, both aged firmly but gently, both crown tube have been soldered (one taller, one shorter), both dials from Bigwaved.



Plexis have been aged and the bottom part has been tinted in a rusty color.

37mm RP dial painted by Bigwaved, mounted on a 39mm brass backplate
NW tall tube hands with faux CP
Molnija 3602 with Rolex engravings
Display caseback aged and rusted engravings
Unknow maker's strap

























Rust

Nostalgia pure, the tinted plexi, the soft aging, the vintage crackling on the lume and faded dial - these are just vintage - like a cask-aged old Portwine :thumbsup: Like a time capsule, they offer a fascinating glimpse into a distant past. The "Bones" with it´s fascinating cream dial and the wonderful view on the movement has specially done it to me. Great artwork, love it

Kilo, there are a few deeply written pages about the crafty patination of antique furniture in Donna Tartt's "The Goldfinch" that apply to your vintage ework. I am always amazed that we both use the exact same parts (River cases, holio Kiefer lume, Bigwaved dials, etc.) but achieve such different results. In any case, Rust and Bones need a third playmate, actually, the kid brother of Rust, so he is here to play, Cream. He needs to take a bath:
