They're the same!
I could spot the rep only by a couple of very small details.. impressive.
Very happy I have one too :D

The H fact CG on this is an instant tell for the trained eyes, but now I can see that someone who is not into this will not notice something like this. The movement looks less "shiny" and missing the stamps altogether, but frankly its worth more then 5% of the gen price IMHO!!!

That ^^^ Plus the lume is an instant tell. (nothing that cannot be corrected by our Lume Wiz Team!) Thank you for this comparison. Been hesitant on 390 for long time but since I've acquired SC372, I cannot take my eyes off it. Its becoming my fave Base PAM. And now this! I will consider 390 one the best Panerai reps out of the box!

Hi karesz my friend
Nice comparo and little review
Really useful

If you have opportunity next time, take comparison pics of lume application, hands-CP, dial inscriptions and caseback engravings

What about the dial colour ??

Link to be included in PAM GUIDE and rep points added

Really this PAM 390 deserves its Suer rep status
Thanks
ALE

BTW: since you get a Noob case of PAM 390, could you take side pics of your case to be matched with the pics on LUMINOR case-set review?
I would say some details to take them.
Thanks again

I'd like to see the side of the gen, just to compare the gen shape and the last Noob 390N

Bozz you have the pics of the gen in the LUMINOR Case-sets Review
We just need the same pics from the Noob case and the comparison is very easy. The problem is to get the correct pics as previously commented.

Nice looking 390's.

I'm torn between keeping my noob 000 or switching to the 390.

Why not have both? The dial and the hands provide enough of a difference to provide some variety. :D I parted with my H-series 390 last year, seems there is no better time to get one again.

The lume application is very hard to get without macros or a lupe, I was educating my friend on the tells and he could not make the difference out. Simply put, on the hand is not an issue at all, even if you take it off.
I did not make pics of the CB, now that has been improved since the first H fact versions, even the inside (!!!) of the CB looks IDENTICAL with the same pearl effect polish on the outer ring of it. Unbelievable, but putting the two next to each other, its the same. The engraving on the CB is better if you have them side by side but the faint concentric circle polish of the CB is spot on with the rep!

It's like the gen on your hand, I 100% get what you mean. I love it as well, I have my third version now.

I will have the opportunity, will organize a day when I'll have my Nikon 3100 on me and shoot some decent HD pics!
The dial color is SPOT ON in real life. The gen is a bit more yellowish in person, you can get it as an overall feeling, but nothing major.

Nice looking 390's.

Keep the zero as well Q, I love the 390 all the way around, but will get a zero as well as a utility/sports alternative. The "new" noob construction is the way to go. After handling the gen, the biggest tell as I said was the CG of the H factory on this one. The new noob 390 is waaaay better in that regards.

Hi Q
I think the same as karesz, no reason to leave the PAM 000. They are in practice two completely different looking watches
I personally prefer PAM 390 for many reasons
I cannot stand the markers and lume application inaccuracies of sausage PAM 000, but PAM 390 is so nice than you can forgive all.

Karesz, I'd be interested to hear your observations on the general wrist presence of the rep and the gen. I don't mean specific items like lume application or CG Lever. I mean if your friend walked out of the room with both watches, put one of them on, and then walked back in, how would you be able to tell by looking at his wrist from 1 meter away if it was gen of rep? Would the Polish or dial color be a clue? Or would they be indistinguishable?

^^^ I strongly believe that if the pam has "super rep" status given in ALE's Pam review guide, it would be indistinguishable as a rep to the naked eye from 1meter away! Maybe even some high first class ones like the 388/505!

I'm honestly telling you guys, on the wrist they are IDENTICAL (to anyone not a trained rep spotter and not having a loupe..) if you have the new 390 noob CG (not the H fact that is pictured on this rep).
I will have the comparison with my hybrid next time.

To second that, as you could see from my previous posts, my friend owns a huge variety of gens, he is a Paneristi for years now. He was, simply put, blown by the rep 390. This is a must have for everyone IMO, beautiful watch and freaking close to the real deal.

edit: weight, polish, case, PRESENCE is like the gen. I could not feel better having an USD500 (with OEM Asso) watch of this quality for the fraction of the original price.... Now the SE boxset (I have not seen that before) looks nice and fancy, but not worth some thousand dollars :)
