It was just brought to my attention that rumor has it one of the factories is going to rep the PAM 399 for Angus (PureTime). Now this is something I can wrap my hands around, I already see all the great mods I can do to this thing, not to mention I love that vintage looking case back! It seems to be using a modified 6497 to look like a Minerva movement. Judging from the prototype shown it still needs some work but a true stunner no doubt!

Vs a gen, the subdial @ 9 seems a little too large and/or further left. Hour maker @ 9 is a whole lot shorter. I wonder if running second position of 6497 and Minerva.

By making the subdial smaller, you would be able to correct the size of the marker @9. The Minerva movements used in PAMs were modified to run secs@9.

I completely agree with mysterio
I don't understand this subdial size, actually unnecessary, to get an inaccurate dial.
Put a correct sized sub-dial and the dial will be almost perfect !

I assume the inscription RADIOMIR PANERAI is engraved. Isn't it??

Hmm.. it looks the problem is not with subdial @9 first but with the size of seconds hand. It is too big/standard for this rep so they enlarged the subdial to match too big hand hence the chain of problems...

It is the same ole A6497 aka Unitas as found in all hand wind replicas of panerai. Just dressed up with different plates, that's all. So nothing new or very modern about it. On the other hand, I've tried a gen at the boutique a few months ago and movement deco on this model was outstanding...so I doubt this rep will ever be close and hence unlikely to be a super rep but gotta give the rep makers some brownie points for the effort on this))

Just ordered one last week after hearing that RWI member cwazy loves his.

Wish they would do a 422 also, which is somewhat similar to 399 but has full PAM CG plus no 9 marker at all...but no P 3001 deco rep movement yet so no luck.
