While checking out Angus' website for something new, came across two new reps, one not so good, one has a lot of potential (and at a much requested size).
PAM521 - Radiomir Platino
Puretime LinkUnfortunately, short story, the movement is wrong (even the description indicates P3000, which is probably why the maker used the P3000 initial movement found in the early PAM372). It should use the OP XXVII, which is the same movement found in the PAM399. All the other markings seem to be fairly accurate so a V2 which will fix these is in the cards.
PAM310 - Luminor Chronograph
Puretime Link
This watch is more noteworthy in that it is a 40mm Luminor with a standard chronograph, something that we think would be so easy to replicate. In general, it is very good. Some nitpicks, which again, I am unsure as to how the maker would get these wrong.
1. Lever tip is wrongly shaped. (curved instead of straight) One would think a straight lever tip would be easier to fabricate.
2. O in LUMINOR is squarish (gen is more oval)
3. L SWISS MADE L font is a bit larger than gen
4. 2 in 12 is shaped differently. (the way the sloping line goes into the nose of the 2)
5. Lume color in the few gen pictures I've seen looks more creamy than the greenish look of the rep.
6. OP number is wrong. Gen is 6739, rep is 6779.
7. It's not a flaw but it's puzzling. They have a white version.
Like I mentioned, these are minor nitpicks. If you've wanted a 40mm PAM, this might tide you over until they fix the issues with this watch. Please check the links out for more photos.
