I was just modding a 127 for a fellow member and ran into an issue with the WSO crystal update. The problem is the crystal is too small, it is small enough that I was able to put it on and remove it from the bezel and gasket without the press. The difference in size is very very small (.03mm) but enough to render the watch prone to water intrusion (not waterproof). This might just be an anomaly, but I thought it to be important to let everyone know what to look for. I have swapped out several and this is the first one I have found with this issue.

Yikes
No thicker gasket would not be a answer. I had this same problem fitting my gen crystal to my gen bezel using various incorrect crappy rep gaskets. The fit will never be perfect unless you want to spend big dollars having a custom gasket made.
Thankfully I was finally able to source an oem gasket. Until then I could push the crystal out from the back with little pressure as Marlin points out with the Noob problem crystals

it seems a thicker gasket would do the trick

As Tanya stated it is not easy to source one that will be just right and the WSO does not come with one and I don't think they sell one for it. Again, this might be a one off as I have done many and not had any issues until now. I just wanted you all to know what to look out for.

WSO stands behind there products and will make it right.

Again this might be an isolated occurrence, here is one of my fully modded Swiss super reps with one of the WSOs on. I took some quick and dirty pictures to show the crystal in natural daylight and direct sunlight I will be making a thread on my latest Swiss 127 in the next few days.

Beautiful! The new crystal makes all the difference in the world for me. I can't stop staring at mine when I'm wearing it.

Hey Guys,

Just to inform everyone, I had just finished a couple of 127 and had a couple of more issues with the WSOs. WSO is going to exchange the crystals and they have excellent customer service, it is just one more delay for the owners of the watches and an over all inconvenience, but I want you guys to know what to look for:

Crystal is slightly too thin and sits too low on bezel, not many would notice but not acceptable on my book

The crystal has an imperfection(ghost) in the AR, can barely be seen unless held at a certain angle but enough to reject

Hope this helps....

Very hard to tell, I was only able to capture it on a picture from the back. Barely visible but I won't deliver a watch with such a fault.

Could you see my video? if you look at the two lights (high hats) not the center one, you can see a blue "ghosting" effect.

Also, I note when I look at the watch if I look at my reflection it feels like I am looking through a pair of prescription glasses. (not the same effect as old crystal)

As I said before very hard to tell, I see a smudge around 11:00 but can't really tell if it is the same thing. If you bought it on Ebay, my suggestion is to send them a message. However if you've had the crystal for a while I don't know if they will take it back, this is something that should have been caught upon installation. Good luck...

I agree..... the distortion is great, but it almost appears "foggy" or cloudy...

Think a re-ar would help it in any way?
