Sorry if this is a repost or in the wrong area... considering how many people selling watches and items request to be paid via PP and F&F I figured this is quite relevant to some on the forum.

I was hit with charges for sending money via F&F to Canada and over to Spain(EU) for two different forum member/sponsor transactions..and then I researched the topic a bit more. Seems to be Just another money-grab by PP and something people will have to deal with if we're not willing to seek alternatives like 'Transferwise'.

The skinny--

Here are the new fees for Sending from US to other countries:

If you are a U.S. PayPal account holder sending money to a friend or family member with a PayPal account in a country other than the U.S., you may pay a fee depending on how you pay and which country the recipient’s account is in.

This is not new, fees have been applied to gift transactions for inter- continental transfers for at least a year.
PP are now no longer part of eBay and are facing stiff competition from other setups, so they are obviously looking to get every penny they can from every transaction.

Odd as I've sent money to China and Canada (people I has sent money to before, non-watch related) as recently as February and March of this year w/ no fees incurred on my end when it came out of my bank account. I def knew some were getting hit and that it was a variable percentage at times-- maybe this was just to state a flat-rate so to speak across the board. I don't know, but either way..Paypal is getting very fee heavy.

I've always bought watches w/ WU from TD's.. but it seems the norm from M2M is always paypal-- hopefully that changes steadily here in the future.

Maybe the mods can consider another gateway such as Transferwise. I've used it with Mikey on RG and it saved me quite a bit on the exchange rate.
