To all vintage daytona wizards, please help me to make improvements to this watch.

The built:

DW case.

V72, vietnam dial.

gen plexi

gen crown

Overall I am happy except seeing these pump pushers stick out so much. Those of you who worked with DW cases, what are my options here if any?

Installing screw inn pushers I was told by a watchsmith not possible (can't recall the reason). Replacing these pushers with a better aftermarket ones? any experience with that? where to get a set? and most importantly will this do the trick? anyone who can pull this off in the EU?

Many thanks.

you sure thats a viet dial? that coronet is horrific.

any set of aftermarket pushers should fit - unlike the cartel cases which need heavy modification to fit gen spec pushers.

Agreed. That coronet looks like a standard cartel one. Doesn’t look like it’s edges are rounded. You can buy much better coroners on eBay as well as gen coroners (sometimes).

I would swap that out before anything else.

Given how little of this checks out, it would be interesting to hear more about the origins of this piece from the OP. azbank, it sounds like you might have been misled regarding the spec of this build.

I think and I'm sure that it's one of the first works of DW (2008) that was modded by Spinmaster, is recognized by two subcounters (h 3 h 9) very disproportionate in diameter and by the crown

Thank you gentlemen,
I built this watch by sourcing the movement, dial, case, plexi etc. and then sending it for assembly, it was not purchased ready made. The dial is indeed from Vietnam, I can't recall the site I got it from, it is csutom made for V72, the coronet bothers me also, however I checked the early gen dials at vintagedaytona.com and coronets were flat on those models. I will try to replace it with the DJ coronet if I find one cheap. I haven't seen anyone selling a coronet separately, but I will check that as well. The crown is gen. it came from my Date Just. does anyone know exact pump pusher item number from CousinsUK or Ofrei?

Ahh... well, that’s all a lot clearer now - glad to hear you weren’t diddled by an unscrupulous modder! And good luck finding the parts.

Thats not a gen crown bud... which datejust did it come off of? A Daytona is drilled for a 600 crown - so it must have been a 1601 datejust?
