I'm gonna pull the trigger soon on a Panny but Im on the fence to whether or not to get a bracelet or leather strap version. To current owners who have had both, what is your overall thoughts on the wearability of the two versions.

Easy decision,

If you are even considering the bracelet, get it!
Reason.... you will buy a new leather strap anyway because the rep ones are shitty so you might as well have a nice stainless bracelet.

D4 is correct. You may own many leather straps, as a number of us do, yet the steel bracelet has a look which is unique to
Panerai and really hard to beat.

SS bracelet kicks ass! And like D4M said, the rep strap is a throw-away. You will buy a new one, if you want it on leather anyway!

the bracelet rocks the house, it is a very nice piece and well made. i was very surprised and i wear mine allot. leather straps suck when it is hot and humid.

Thanks for the feedback. Which bracelet do you guys prefer? The all polished version or the polished/brushed style?

I will be the lone voice of dissent here, evidently.

I hate bracelets on Panerai watches. Wouldn't even consider it.

Having said that, if you've decided that you like the bracelet, go for it. Like D4M said, you'll buy straps anyway. All polished or brushed/polished depends on which watch you're putting it on.

Glad to see there are some like minded people out there. I go even further and actually hate bracelets. I have 15 watches and none have bracelets. The ones Ive had to buy with bracelets have had the bracelet changed to a strap right away. With Panatime ,Heroic 18 , Jacob and Steinhart to name a few making such lovely straps I don't know why anyone would want a bracelet. Just my humble opinion you understand. :D

Please define "affordable". If affordable is $50 max or $100 max, you're likely to get very different answers.

Well, you're likely to get different answers anyway, but you know what I'm saying.

I love my Savage leather strap. I bought it without the buckle because I like Davidsen's buckle and simply put it on the strap--which actually saved me a bit of money. If I recall, the strap was a bit under $100. It wears beautifully and is gaining a rich patina every time I wear it. The leather is thick and when I first put it on, a little stiff. Within about 15 minutes of body temperature it is soft and pliable and extremely comfortable.

Visit the "stickied" Strap thread at the top of the Panerai forum here. I would suggest Don, TheWatchBoys, WACCEX or Panatime for good straps around $50.
