Did you know that some parts from very cheap rep movement will fit a gen movement and vice versa??? Of course you did.

Here is a pic of my cheapo 113. Notice the ratchet and crown wheels how terrible they look.

Pic of genuine crown wheel next to cheap Asian crown wheel. Nice bevel and finish on the genuine.

Lookie here I replaced the cheapo ratchet wheel with a genuine and it even fits with the Eta screw.

Now both the ratchet and crown wheels are put into the cheapo rep movement. Just changing these two wheels makes a nice difference.

Now here are the Asian rep wheels put into a gen 6497 skeleton movement. Yucky wheels but they do fit even with the asian screws.

Just a roundabout way to show one difference between an Asian 6497 and swiss with many parts being interchangeable.

like the title says, "just having fun" is all... if one has a broken 6497 or some extra parts lying around it's an easy way to visually make a cheaper movement look just a little better even with the hideous stickers on the bridges. But now I'm curious to know which other gen parts will fit on the asian copy. Maybe the cannon pin will be a direct swap...hey, it beats watching television.
