Hi all,

I'm about to invest in my first Panerai and I need some help.... I'm pretty much sold on a Pam 0111H and the Pam 127 (most probably from Davidsen), but I have some questions about the replacement straps.

I know most reps will come with a decent enough strap but I how thick is an original Panerai strap. Also my wrists are 7.75" in diameter should I be looking to get an extra long strap or will a standard replacement fit.

thanks ....sorry to be a pain !!

Strap thickness is really a matter of preference. I've never owned an OEM Panerai strap, but I would assume they are approx 4mm thick. I have 7.5" wrists and I usually buy 120mm/85mm straps if not longer. The thicker the strap, the longer it will need to be, especially on the 111. I would say give 130/85 or 130/90 a try and go from there.

first of all, you're not being a pain at all so no need to apologize~

I was always a Rollie guy just a few month ago before I got bit by PAM Bug  Now I see a whole new freaken world!

You just can't go wrong with either one of those watches...111H and 127(fiddy).

and for your wrist......man....you must be a big dude....7.75"???
  j/k
well, the strap that comes with watches are not really good....and almost everyone buys their own strap.
some people even go for their own custom made strap.

Why don't you try contacting Savage Here on our Dealer Section?
He's a great custom strap dealer! and his prices are considerably cheaper than any other custom made strap on the market.
He will go through the whole process with you and make sure you get what you need! so no need to worry even if you have no knowlege of strap.

Yes, Jiro is right... go for savage_here straps, he's very professional to deal with. I highly recommend his service and quality.

GEN PAM straps are about 3mm thin.

Now you REALLY need a Savage Strap LOL

Elliot @ TC Straps, Savage or Tootall. You can go wrong breaking your cherry with any of them. As said above, the rep straps suck and I haven't seen one yet that will fit a 7.75" wrist. When I bought my first 111 I didn't even wait for the watch to get to me before I ordered a strap from Elliot. Happy strap hunting, that in itself is a bit addicting.

I have no idea about an email for tootall. If you're asking about a website, I don't think either he or Savage have them.

Just PM them here. They are both quite active on this forum and I'm sure they'll respond ASAP.

A Gen one or TC straps, is the way to go.

Also, consider a home made strap, not made at your house, but a smith that work with leather, to make a good strap to you, hand made.

I also have a 7.75 inch wrist and i wear 125/80or 130/80 fi i want to have more a flap for the keeper. Dont get anyting smaller than than. As far as the strrap to go with, there are so many good ones out there. Jior pointed you out to a lot of memeber here that buld sraps and they are great as they feel home made vs something done by a machine. SC straps and MP straps are really good as well. Take a look arround and see what jives your interstet and buy one. Like many of use you will end up with a strap collection as well.

Cheers.

If your wrist is + 7.5 inches, go for Fiddy (127).

DSN is your man for one of these - looks like you did your share of research.

Web address for Tootall?

No web address for me. Just PM me here.

Just some recommendations on the straps for the fiddy and 111H. Most any strap looks good on a 111H. I have yet to see a really bad combo on this watch. For the fiddy, a vintage looking strap looks best imo. A rep strap that comes on a Davidsen is much different than your average rep strap. It is a step above an average rep strap but a step below a really nice TC or custom made one.

With the wrist size you have I would recommend custom made. 130/80 is a good size if the strap is no thicker than 4mm. If you go any thicker then you will need to bump it up to around 135/85 or 140/85. Hope this helps.

Wow you didn't mess around. Great choices you'll love them both. Ask Davidsen if he has a SS bracelet that will fit his case. I'm loving the 111 on SS.

Try out the Bob straps, for the price you normally pay you get from BOB 2 strap. Very good quality to a fair price.......

I own both watches and love them. The next one you should get is a 217, cannot get it off my wrist at the moment

....125/80 is ok.

Exactly what I want. I'm also somewhat new to the Panerai world. I'm thinking about the ult112 w/ SS bracelet, or the 111. Can't decide yet, it has taken over my brain! Any info/ feedback on these two models would be appreciated. Also, does anyone know if dsn has the "L swiss made L" on the 112's? I saw unanswered questions on his page. Oh well, back to reading and researching. The build-up is getting intense for me...
