Just found this offering on Paneristi, a very rare tryptych of 3 Pams limited to 100 pieces each in one special box. Pretty amazing, the seller wants 26,000 euros. I would love to have this set!
Panerai triptyque PAM00781.

PAM228 Luminor GMT SE 2005 limited to 100pcs

Those are 3 of the most beautiful Panerai I have ever seen!! I love the Firenze series.

Does anyone think that the 228s that are available to us are worth getting?

To keep it all in perspective, 24,000 Euros equals out to $37,000 USD or the down payment on a house. To make you even more depressed, back in 2000 when the dollar was strong and the Euro weak, the same group of watches would have cost you $21,000. That's a 43% drop in the value of the US dollar in eight years. With inflation and currency devaluation you should expect to loose roughly 8% in the value of your currency each, not factoring fuel and food.
Heart-warmer stuff isn't it?

Three models of Panerai that can be clearly discerned from one another. Very nice indeed.

On the brighter side, I have found three Euro cents and some lint in my pocket, think I will book a trip to New York for a week.

As to the topic on hand, why is the lume on these pieces so green? I thought proper luminova, as per the gens, should be boney white.

They are the genuine article, so green white or pink makes no difference whatsoever. They are what they are.

I'm not a lume expert - does anyone know of it varies from year to year or patch on the lume color?

I do like the blue dials (specially if they are like the 82) but the green lume??? That is just so off.

I saw that set a while ago. It's an incredible set of three beautifull PAM's. I'd have trouble deciding which to wear. Makes me wish that they did a 224 rep.
