Do the gen normally come with out the "Panerai" engraved on them?

Just contact Ruby and get he to send you a strap. She has Pre-V and Deployant. Or Contact Panatime for after market straps and buckles. You won't be sorry you did.

Basically there are two types of rep Panerai straps, ones without the logo that you generaly get on the rep watch, and then there are ones with the stamped logo which you buy as an aftermarket spare part and are packed in "retail genuine-like" plastic bag with al the right markings and item designation, just as genuine spare part.

These 2 types of straps are made by two different factories in China, I have taken both apart in the past, stripped the paint from the surface, and compared the leather content, inserts quality and thickness, stitching thread quality and finish, so I can safely state that as a fact.

The former (ones that normaly come attached on watches) are of slightly lesser quality that the latter which are very 1:1 with the genuine Panerai straps, of which I own 3 at the moment. I have sourced few of these aftermarket straps with the logo from Andrew in the past, and believe me they're worth every dollar (for the people that are into 24/22 standard length straps, of course)

However that said, there are exceptions to the rule, I have received 2 watches from Ruby in the past which came with the higher quality straps with the logo on them. This could well be due to the fact that Ruby's watches were sourced from a diferent rep factory which used aftermarket rep straps, that's all.

Hope this helps,
