Hi there, i saw the post regarding Santee Alley. Really not looking forward to going down there for a moderately priced Panerai replica, but I will if no one else has an alternative suggestion for the LA area.

Thanks all !

Use the TD's. They are trusted for a reason

I'm from LA went to USC , spent many days in the alley in down town and the reps down there are total trash and a waste of money. Also I travel to the PRC on a regular basis and I for the life of me , I can't find a decent rep in HK , BJ , or SH. Deal with a TD .

Agree with Roth, I spent a month in PRC and purchased 3 reps- all of which stopped working within the week. When you see the salesman shaking the reps every few minutes that's typically a bad sign. (Saw it a LOT in Shanghai)

We, the veterans, are here to help noobs

We have worked hard to select good RWI TDs with very high standards of quality and good price.

We all are here getting protection from the forum

You can spend your money as you want, but the problems will be at your own risk

Do they have straps there?

Why spend $$$ for rep straps? Those are fine if they come free with a quality PAM but as stated before reps from street vendors are crap. Better off buying straps off panatime or ordering from the strapmakers here.

Being new to PAMs, I'm still deciding even what kind of styles and colors I want for mine. I wanted to have a place to look and maybe even buy a cheapo one, and when I know I'm happy with the look, swap it out with a quality one AND support some of the great strap makers here. Some of the straps I really like are as much as the rep PAM I bought. I'm not ready to make that leap. Besides, that would make it tougher to buy my second PAM. :)

I 2nd that, Santee Alley is not a place to even get a marginally decent rep. I've often considered a junky B&R there, but none of them I found even were worth it. You're better off getting one good quality watch vs a bunch of bad reps. Either find one of the lower-end reps from the TD's or buy used from another member if you are on a budget.

I've come to the conclusion that some people just need to lose their money so they learn. All the advice in the world from us doesn't seem to get through.

Don't underhand why you would be on this awesome forum asking about santee. That's like going to a Porche dealer asking to test drive a pinto...
