Has anyone been able to get a polished SS Panerai engraved deployment buckle? I saw a gen and it looked pretty sharp. The only ones I've seen on reps are the brushed SS on the rubber straps

Mine are brushed, on alligator - love them. The gens I was trying on this weekend (the Rattrapante) had a nice shiny SS deployant. :D Different than the usual ones you see on the silicone straps.

A little on the skinny side (the one on the Rattrapante), but it was nice - as it should be. One of the dealers had polished deployants, I believe. Wonder if you could polish one up?

I noticed that too...seemed a little flimsy but a really nice look on a gator or croc strap :)

What I did was to polish my brushed clasp with a cape cod cloth to a mirror shine. It takes some time and elbow grease but the results are excellent. If you had a buffing machine with some rouge it would be even easier.
You could also bring it to a watch shop or jewelry shop and ask them to do it for you.
I agree the polished clasp gives it a much more elegant look and to me more authentic for some models.
I have my claps hooked up to an OEM PAm black Gator strap and it looks sharp.

Maybe this would be a good opportunity for Joshua and Andrew to get their suppliers to come up with some polished deployment buckles :D :D :D

Will this one work? It's a 24/22 buckle.

I brought a brushed tang buckle to mirror finish with Cape Cod, mounted on a Dremel. It took some time - I certainly wouldn't have wanted to do this by hand.

I cut a 10mm strip off the Cape Cod cloth, concertina-folded it, then punched a hole through the wad and mounted it on a Dremel arbour. It worked a treat.

For an encore, I mirror-polished the case of a brushed finish JleC Kompressor. Removing and replacing all those crowns took longer than the polishing job.! But I am pleased with the results:
