Can somebody please tell this noob why it says BOTH am and pm? Does this change, and how does it indicate am or pm?

I am no expert but I believe on the Gen of this watch there is a smaller thicker hand that runs underneath the seconds hand indicating am/pm it has a thick white tip to it. I guess on the Rep its not possible to replicate this the Gen is easily around $16000 for the 10 day reserve model that is pictured here. I know Hont is selling these a little cheaper as I just bought one lol
