Swirling is far better than shaking. You have to get the rotor spinning. You can manually wind it to create a little power but ultimately you should simply wear it all day. Then the rotor will create some power reserve and it should work properly.

If not, you may have a movement with a mechanical problem.

Swirl, as in a circular motion, correct? Ok, I'll try that. When u say manually wind.....wind it while it's depressed all the way? Thanks for your advice.

You might need to wind it first. The power reserve must have gone down after the long trip.

Imagine if he was trying to swirl it around to get it going and it was a manual wind movement :D:D:banghead:
Just give it a wind and then swirl as well.

Ok, so unlock it and wind the crown until it won't wind anymore?

Nah, just a few turns, then a light snap of your wrist to start the balance. If it doesn't start, you got a dud.

Looks like I got a dud then. I swirled it for 5 minutes straight. I wound it, and still no movement. I appreciate the help guys.

Oh no:( doesn't it have to be wound 20-26 times from the first fingertips of pointer and thumb rolled all the way to the second knuckle? I Thought it was simple to wind one now I'm worried as I just sent out an order oh no!

Assuming it's an automatic, you need to wind the crown ~20 times before it will start moving.

Can you open the back??? It might be something very simple. A lot of the time a movement holder tab or screw get loose and fall into the balance making not able to oscalate.

Guys, I wound it more than 20 times for at least 5 times, shaked it, swirled it for 5 minutes straight. No movement. It's a shame because the damn watch is a thing of beauty but that doesn't mean anything if it doesn't work. I'm taking it to a watchsmith later.

Yeah, frustrating. Been there.

If you can take the back off, as has been suggested, you may find a loose screw or contamination easily removed, and be able to fix the problem yourself.

You have a rep-friendly watchsmith at your disposal? Great. They are not easily located, based on the number of inquiries among RWI members.

Be prepared to own the problem if you open it. Dealers will not warranty any watch that has been opened.

Saying that, I would not send a watch back to get fixed. I chalk it up to being part of the "Game" and have it fixed CONUS.

Thanks Tommy.
Q5: That was the advice given to me by them. Have a local watchsmith take a look. I have a feeling they're gonna make it difficult for me to get an exchange or a repair anyways.

It's a massive hassle for both parties if you go down the return route. In the long run it will be easier, cheaper and less risky to find a watchsmith from the forum who will deal with it.

Hey guys, I sent my watch to member md2020. He was able to fix it and did an excellent job. I'm so happy now. It took him just a week and he even sent me videos of the progress. Great asset to this board!
