Panerai Movement Video

It's an extreme close-up of a manual wind Panerai movement. Some bits are a bit shakey, but it's pretty cool. Do you think it's a gen or rep? If a gen, the imperfections of the engraving on the movement are noticable so close up.

Anyway, thougnt this was interesting.....

Not sure about the engravings. Like crappy in a spot or two. I would hope it is just the way the camera is seeing it.

As for that YouTube - those Slo Mo Home depot shoppers are pretty funny. Fun idea.

cool video! looks as if there is some dust or debris on the ratchet wheel. looks a little suspect to me as far as being a gen movement, but what do i know?

I don't know about you but I was looking at the other listings on the side bar of the replicas he has to show ...Freereplica.com? Obviously he is advertising for sales. I'm not sure its cool to bring that kind of attention out there to what we have? I have heard that Panerai was going to get as bad as Rolex about Reps.

Its a rep movement in a 44mm case, the OP Firenze engraving is way off.

Yes you can see the balance it tappers out and gets wider tward the edge eta balance wheels start thickker and tapper down to thinner tward the edge of the blaance.

...that's pretty cool. I like toward the end you can get quick glimpse of the jewel on the pallet lever. I was also trying to figure out what language they were speaking. Kind of a niosy factory... :shock:

I was just looking at some genuine pam movement pictures. Now i am kind of confused. It looks like there balance wheel tappers out tward the edge too. So he says its gen. And looking at the Panerai engravings i have not seen any like that on a rep.
