you do know you can test an empty case as well as one with a movement, right? And if it fails, all you do is have to dry it out ...
Yes, but you need to put the movement back in afterwards, meaning it's been opened since your test.

yes it do noe thant, enzo, thanks! :)

i'm using the hot water test..put pam in hot water and observe for bubbles..the hot water will heat up the air in the watch and cause it to expand, increasing the pressure inside the case..if there's a leak anywhere air will escape and from bubbles..if u see that remove watch immediately and dry. some of my PAMs had bubbles, so they were omitted from the shot... :)

pugwash- yup, i've dunked it in..i've swam with it..i've washed my clothes while wearing it..i've bathed with it..no moisture leak at all! but of course i've greased all orings and tightened the caseback beforehand. :)

moggio- i'm now in australia, studying... :) can't wait to go back to the south east asian watch hub and immerse myself in all the AP ROOs, PAMs, IWCs, etc...

Singaporeans unite!

Moggio and azgjav, I take it you guys are Singaporeans? Cool me too! And that is shit of a lot of reps for a student! haha

Love your IWC GST. Want to get one for myself, but I heard it has to be serviced, do you know anywhere where this 'servicing' is available?

Btw, I'm Singaporean too, wonder how many more of us there are on this board

Mine is off to Canada where Ziggyzumba will service it. It costs $175, but turns it into a bomb-proof chrono monster.

Hey!

Hey Quarks, good to know you're from home. We should all do a get-together one of these days in Singapore and find out who's wearing what.

Pugwash --> yes, ur servicing in canada with ziggy-who? Please post what happens to your GST. If all goes well i'll go your same route!

Love the IWC GST

Ziggy is well-known on other rep boards but doesn't visit this one due to some montague/capulet history that I don't really understand. He's the best with movements, and in particular the 7750@28 the IWC has. A service from Ziggy costs $175 and you need to book well in advance. If you approach him now, he'll be able to squeeze you in round september.

The guy who lives on these boards, Red Big Joe is more of a modder than a servicer, and in fact he has someone else work on the movements for him, which means he ends up being more expensive on services, like around $275 for a 7750. Still, Joe is much more respected for his skills at making reps closer to genuines, and, if it weren't for his health issues at the moment, would be as active as ever on this very forum.

I will, obviously, keep everyone informed of my IWC's trip to Kanuckistan and of its return in due course.
