I am looking at the Pam 297 O series chronograph and the Pam 299 N, looking for opinions on which model is a higher quality rep or overall a better buy in terms of closeness to the gen. Appreciate any input from the fellow Panerai experts on the forum.

Confused slightly - PAM 297 is not chronograph, its GMT

Both are Luminor models, Both are sausage dials, Both are on SS Bands, and both even have the same movement A7750, just the GMT (297) is modified with a GMT module. Other than that, I believe they are both considered super reps or at the very least, high end first grade reps. In terms of stats (Close to gen) they are just about the same. It all comes down to preference at this point. IMO, a simple dial watch like the 299 should be manual (like the 111 V3) so if it were up to me, i would go for the 297.

Hi friend
Most likely if you order a PAM 299 N series you will get a O-series because either H maker or Noob have already started the O-series.
That said you are talking about almost the same watches, with the same case, the same base movement, the same bracelet and now, most likely, the same crystal with improved Cyclops. (If you are talking about 299 N-series it would be just worse crystal.)

Therefore it is a taste matter, the GMT function and the GMT markers on dial make the difference !!
Regarding accuracy, we are talking about Super replicas in both watches. You will not find evident flaws in those replicas with solid casebacks.
If you like more simple watches go to 299
If you like complicated dials and GMT function go to 297
Concerning reliability, GMT function is good but you will add more elements to have issues

Just my thoughts

I'm not saying that H maker is worse, I'm just giving my opinion

In PAM GUIDE you will find some links for more info even an H maker review by PCTeam's Polonus

Read this info before purchase

Sorry for necro bumping a 2 year old thread. Are there any 297 noob owners that can comment on the quality of the concentric rings on the 9:00 subdial? Comparable in quality to the silver subdial on noob's 088? Searched around for 297 reviews here and elsewhere but haven't found much detailed info on the noob in particular.
